Nikah is the solemnisation of an Islamic marriage contract and one of the most blessed occasions in Islam.

Contact the Masjid early to discuss the proposed date. The existing service guidance recommends at least three weeks’ notice, with earlier contact during busy summer months.

Documents listed

  • Bride and bridegroom birth certificates and passports
  • Deed Poll document where a name has changed
  • Decree Absolute or Islamic/Sharia Talaq document if previously divorced
  • Former spouse’s death certificate if widowed
  • Original civil marriage certificate

  • The bride or groom must reside in Bolton
  • One of the available Imams will conduct the Nikah; a specific Imam cannot be guaranteed
